Nice one, knew an ELR made sense. What rear shocks are they? look a bit odd to me. Otherwise looks good. :)

Looks good Piggy - better than that old nail you had  I suppose you'll be replacing all those non-original bits with the proper stuff

Rich, as ita all older modifications, I ain't planning to do too much, except for tidying & tweaking  Just been for a 20 mile ride.... :|

C&S are shagger, a bit lumpy/rough running on low revs, but sails along OK over 3000 rpm

Poor things been a bit neglected the last few years (things like gear lever bit was loose) but overall engine seems sound enuff

Gonna have to have the sprox cover off at the weekend to check front sprox and gear shaft is a bit wobbly

Brakes are worse than the RedZed (with only ONE front disc) :!: :!: :!:

Whipped the carbs off last night.....

They were NOT RS38's..... but RS34's.....

So..... they are now sold & on the hunt for some more suitable items...

34's will not allow the bike to make the most of the engine work...

It was taking a good 30 seconds to get the bike started.... then a while to warm up & stop spitting :!:

Took plugs out and gave 'em a clean (NGK's :?? ) but at least the threads in the head were all good.... It's always a bit of a worry when you start checking out a new bike

Might try the RS36's off me Black Zed to see how the ELR runs :|

My Zed is the same capacity now Piggy and I've got a set of Gary Baldi's fitted.
She runs blindingly now dear fellow!
Seriously "my" man thinks 39's will do the job for me and that with standard cams (I don't bloody know!) but seems strange in which case yours is struggling a bit (?)

Right then..... horrid wet Sunday... in the garage..

Chains Donald-Ducked, so off it all comes...

The swingarm is a JMC & everthing comes apart easily :P

Rear wheel is apparently a CMA (Cast Magnesium Alloy  ) and nice & light, no cracks evident

The front sprocket on these Square cam engines is off-set:

Image

........... so can be used on older Zeds for adapting WIDER tyres

The chain is a 630 so gonna pop into TALON in Yeovil tomorrow (only a 200yds from one of our Concrete Depots) and find out about a 530/525 conversion

The rear sprocket carrier is a cool arrangement with bolts acting as studs, which fit into the wheel hub, which has rubber inserts that act as shock-absorbers :!: Neat

That'll be a good £100 tomorrow then

Piggleonion, in the first picture the biscuit box states "more a chocolte than a biscuit", which got me thinking about a similar quote I had heard a little while back.......................................... "Pigford, more biscuit than man"
