Ok.............. Mrs P out again today (another shopping trip with one of her friends  )..... so its in the kitchen again...

Got me nicely rebored & painted barrels at the ready... along with the WISECO 75mm piston kit & some feeler gauges

Image

The Wiseco's come with info in "gapping" the rings.... its:

bore size x 0.0045" for the top ring & 0.0055" for the middle

Thats 0.034mm & 0.041mm in new money

So the procedure is to fit each ring in turn into its respective bore & measure the end gap......

To ensure the ring is dead square in the bore, use the piston to push it down about 20mm...

Image

Then you can measure the 'end gap'.... like so........

Image

If the gap is too tight.... you will need to file the end of one side of the ring. It must be kept square to the other one & file inwards & be sure to remove any burrs :!:

Best to fit rings to correct pistons as you go - making sure they are all clearly marked & matched to the relevant bores... :??

Once this process has been done with them all you can fit 1 x circlip to each piston to hold gudgeon (wrist) pin. This is easier than trying to fit ALL of them when the pistons are fitted to the conrods  Take you time & work out where each piston is going & what side is easiest to access when its time to fit the pistons & 2nd circlip.... :|
Its usually best to fit the outer most circlips last

DON'T FORGET TO MAKE SURE PISTON ARROWS (ON TOP SURFACE) ARE POINTING FORWARDS

Whilst fitting pistons, cover all crankcase openings.... bung rags on case openings beneath pistons & cam chain tunnel... :P I used some old socks (loads of new ones for Xmas

Image

Time for more TEA & BISCUITS now
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Why don't you get Mrs P to invest in a new duvet cover so you can have the old one :?:

Then you could use it to cover the whole engine and stop all that dust from going everywhere

Don't forget to space the piston rings

Mark, Ray asked me to have a look at the Z and see what i could do.
Managed to find a couple of extra gee gee's.
It's going a little beter, no?
If you need me to do yours dont hesitate to ask.

See attached.

Not really.
I have tried to migrate my Santa Pod clips to Youtube to free up some space and because the original i posted of this was speeded up. Not by me but by the size of the clip or frame intensity!!! But it appears that if they have already been coded for another application then they will not transmit 'native'
I have no idea what the hell they are talking about but it does need fixing.

AL

Great clip by the way. Well done that man. Santa Pod beckons.
