Fitting electronic ignition

#1 PostAuthor: Richardz900 » Thu Jan 01, 2009 4:22 pm

The HT lead has broken where it enters the coil on my z900 A4, i'v now decided to fit a Boyer Bransden Micro-Power CDI which includes new coils which i'll be ordering from z-power. Has anyone got any advice as to how to fit this myself? Or should it be taken to a garage to be done? I have basic knowledge and don't want to start the job if I cant finish it. Any tips will be appreciated.
Cheers :)

Richard.
Just fitted a Dyna S system and 3 ohm coils to my Z1B,easy to follow instructions, can't go wrong, just make sure you fit some heat shrink tubing to the mounting bolts/spacers so LT side does not short to earth,pm me if you need some heat shrink tubing
Best Regards
Steve

The general consensus on here is go DYNA everytime.... :??

I got a new DYNA S ignition for grabs....

Boyer Branstonpickle systems don't seem to be too robust...

If you can set points up it should be no problem for you to put elec ignition on. You will need a strobe and a basic idea of wiring would be an advantage.

Intial set up, don't even need a strobe..... Manually hold on 'full advance' & check marks.... won't be too far out
