A good tip before you throw your carb to airbox rubbers away and buy expensive new ones is to just get a couple of litres of cheap cellulose thinners, the gunwash type will do, get from any bodyshop supplier. Pour some into an old tin or better, a large glass so you can see whats happening.Tie a piece of wire round the rubbers so you can pull them out. Just simply drop your rubbers in, make sure they're fully submerged and leave them to pickle for 4 to 6 hours. I've even left them overnight, they wont dissolve! When you pull them out you might think that you've knackered em as they'll have swolen up to a lot bigger than they ever were. Just dry them off and leave a couple of hours, they should be nice and plyable and easy to fit. I've even done it with a complete Z1 airbox. Try it with an old spare rubber first, you've nothin to lose ! Should save you buying new ones and alot of sore fingers and cussing!

Deak, I shall chase this up.
Any other info about this "Cellulose Thinners ~ gunwash type ~ from body-shop suppliers".
This may be the stuff I had before.

This thinners is the cheapest you can get from an auto body consumables shop, costs us in the body trade about ?12 for 25 litres. Its not the household paint thinners ie. Turps. Not sure if that would do the job.
Hope that helps you Garn!

Chrisu, under the new legislation coming in Jan this stuff is not banned, but anything with a high sovent content will be more difficult to get, Anything made before Jan 2007 can still be bought up to end of Dec 2007.!
