Fuck my old boot ... I don't think I have ever seen so much wanton vandalism perpetrated on an engine in all my born days
I thought the cam chain trick was one of the most horrendous acts of spanner aided barbarism I'd seen, but it looks as though some ape has actually taken the end off the final drive shaft. Surely this has to be a wind up

Have a look around your workshop; there must be a TV crew hiding in the shadows.
Surely they'll come out soon with your real, unmolested engine soon
If this is for real, then I wonder if Watchdog or any similar consumer progs would be interested. If not how about that prog where they expose dodgy builders and plumbers. I think the business may be a tad iffy - Mikey was telling me tonight that the geezer that bought his ZZR took it there for an MOT. Failed on the pack pads and wheel bearing. Mikey took a look and there was nothing wrong with the wheel bearing. Put new pads in and took it back, told the bloke he'd changed the bearings. The guy gave it a tug and agreed it was now fine - do we think he might have thought he was getting the work of putting right the bearings? I always make a point of telling MOT testers that I'll be sorting any failures. I've been shagged over by car garages before - bastards don't bite
my arse twice.
If this business is as shady as it's starting to sound, I think that threatening the knob end with VOSA (Vehicle and Operators Service Agency) might tune his train of thought. They are based around the corner from my old business premises and I used to do some work for them years ago when they were known as the Vehicle Inspectorate. He will make an absolute mint from doing MOTs and even an accusation of impropriety would cause him loads of pain and grief. If you can gather as much evidence as possible before Sunday, I think we should be able to get some form of result. If we take the evidence so far gathered to VOSA, the best he could hope for is to have a serious investigation ... I somehow suspect that's not going to be very appealing to him, so doing the decent thing might be a good idea.
