Side panels and their fixing points

#1 PostAuthor: Lee McEvoy » Fri May 23, 2008 8:25 pm

I have a modified Z900A4 frame, that appears to have had all the fixing points for the side panels removed (do not know why!).
Am trying to find any documentation / pictures or guidelines that show me what and where the original mounting points should look like and where they should be placed on the frame.

Lee, there are 6 points in all, three per side, where the Z900/KZ900-A4 side covers attach. From memory, two are an integral part of the engine mounting brackets and a third is in the battery retaining bracket, a fourth in in the plastic tool box. Which leaves two to be welded to the frame (RHS) I think.

I've just sold my A4, so I'll leave someone else to give you finite position measurements. You may have to buy some new rear engine mount brackets!

Guys Thanks really appreciate your helkp on this. It looks like I could be fabricating lots of brackets (as It appears that not even my engine brackets are standard!!!.

Ludders PM to you this evening with my Hotmail account.

Suppose no one would have an old frame (no V5 necessary) and brackets that I could borrow to make the bits I would need to take side panels (which I do intend to by through the club).

There you go chap. You just need to right click on the source photo, select properties and the true path will be displayed. Then just copy and paste within the Img brackets.
