Hello all , new to the site , just got my first z , z1r , question , the bike has a very standard exhaust system in place , and have my eyes on a vance & hines 4-1 as a replacement (as see on e-bay ) want to keep the oem exh as a good standby and run aftermarket thru the year the bike is as far as i`m aware standard (air box -filter -carbs ), thinking ,what mods are req`d as the standard is a 4-1 ,and the replacement would be a 4-1 also , any help answers would be great ,Buzzy

Good choice of pipe,IMO the best 4-1 for the road

Welcome Buzzy, let's see a pic of the Z1R.
There is a section "How to post pics".
Four pipes rule, anything else is second best.

Buzzy, I think the only "mods" that may be required, would be re-jetting and this would be probably only one size up. You may want to fit air-pods and there again, it may require some larger jets. That's the only mods you have to consider with this fitting of the V&H exhaust. You may find, and I think most likely, that nothing is required.

Hiya Buzzy

Defo check out Z1 Enterprises, u can get a new V&H delivered for ?200

As for carb tweeking, as Garn says, may have to got up a size or two  as the standard pipes are quite restrictive compared to V&H :!:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Is that ?200 at the door or do you have to pay Duty and VAT on top of that?

Out of curiosity.

What are the cheapest systems that can be bought for a Zed?

Found this V+H price.
