Oh Cock!

#1 PostAuthor: warren3200gt » Fri May 06, 2016 3:54 pm

Current 650 build has come up against a snag. Its a 530 chain but has 900 a4 CMA's so needed a 530 900 rear sprocket. The only one available is a 47 tooth. So I compensated by increasing the front sprocket to keep the stock ratio the same. But this has caused a problem. The chain run now touches the Dresda Box section swing arm bracing. So tried a stock front sprocket to lift the chain a tad but it's still just scraping even with the rear shocks under load.
So my dilemma is 1, find a 36 tooth A4 rear sprocket for a 530 chain or 2, take a chunk out the swing arm brace.
Unless you bike builders can come up with a simpler alternative. which would be nice as taking a chunk out is a pain and a smaller diameter sprocket doesn't appear to be available.

Chain tensioners....... http://www.monstercraftsman.com/

B&C or Talon should be able to make you a sprocket to fit your requirements.

B&C made me a 38 tooth 530 sprocket a few years back now. Infact it's still in it's original wrapping, unused, in the bottom of my tool box.

6 bolts fixing?
Pretty much most modern Kawasaki's use the same fitting.
ZXR750/ZX9/ZX10R/ZX12R etc.
Most use 530 pitch so shouldn't be that hard to find a match.

Try JT here - The JTR448 goes down to 38 tooth so not far off.

Some nice ally ones here go down to 36tooth but pricey

Or you can buy piloted blanks from Dennis Trollop racing and drill your own bolt holes.

Ooops error in original post, standard 650 is 42/530 so 6 hole with 42 tooth 98mm dia centre hole with 6 bolt 130mm c/l dia holes.
Can't find one on JT with the correct holes for a 530 chain
I like the idea of a tensioner though, kinda fits the bikes theme, if I can find a black/silver one that fits either the swing arm (50 x 25 box) or the bracing (40 x 20 box).
