Paul,

It must be either the lead, plug cap or output post on the coil....

It is obviously an ignition component failure.

The problem has been swapped over to #3
That means EVERYTHING with #2 is good.

My thoughts exactly guys, but all new components and the fault is exactly the same, new leads, plugs .dyna, caps, might try swapping coil and leads for 1 and 4 with coil for 2 and 3?

If it was a coil issue BOTH 2+3 would be down.

Swapping it would mean 1+4 being down.

The HT lead in question isn't arcing out.

Try running it in the garage with the lights out.

Keith brand new coils with sealed in leads, new caps, plugs, swapped 2 and 3 over at plug cap end and fault transferred from 2 to 3.But works when you first fire her up just fails after a while?

Jim tank is off,no arcing.

Was same fault b4 we replaced all the ignition components!

One thing i have noticed is that the lead that goes to the pot that fails ,either 2 or 3 shows intermittent firing when you put the clamp from the strobe light across the ht lead

Weird that because that was what the old lead and coil were doing with the strobe?
