Carb Tune

I can do this but I have conflicting information on how to set them up from the manuals I have.
My bike doesn't have the throttle stopper and I can work out what is meant by "in the middle" I know why so you have adjustment either way.
If I can get the valves near perfect the rest I can take up with the carbtune.

You don't have a throttle stop or stop screw, if not you are on a hiding to nothing, are you able to put some pics of your carbs on here, if not email them to me. PM sent

Sorry might have misled here. I have the throttle stop but there was mention of another stop which I think was in the later models.

if you look a this slide the notch you are looking for is in the 12 o clock position in the photo to do this procedure you have to remove the carbs from the engine as the notch is facing the engine. i don't know where you have got your 2mm measurement from ?

hi Z1 i have sent some pics and waiting for a reply. i have taken loads of pics of the throttle slide, and thanks for link, but mine clearly doesn't have the notch!!!!!!!
i can clearly see the one in the pic but mine, well carb 1 clearly doesnt have it.

well the carbs you have are not z900a4 carbs as the photo is of a genuine slide

You won`t see it until you remove the carbs

ok i really do understand what you are saying but i have taken pictures inside the carb and can see all round the needle and it looks exactly like the one Z1 sent the link with the same holes and id but not notch.

i checked the carbs early doors and Steve Smethurst had them in for cleaning. i also checked them with other A4 owners and they appeared to be genuine.
Mad i don't get it!

if you have a big difference in compression reading this will drastically effect the running if you are using vacuum gauges. the most accurate way is to set the slide heights of the bike as steve smethurst should have done & the carbs would not have needed any further adjustment

the length of the choke lever makes me suspect they are suzuki carbs
