both steel bushes / shaft's should slide into the bearing in the idler gears. do you mean the bearing cage is moving in the idler gear ?

He means the steel insert that the needle bearing presses into.
This should be bonded to the idlers damper rubber but with age often becomes detached .

the steel bush that holds the needle bearing not the cage i take it should be bonded to what looks like rubber inside the sprocket

the one thats solid do you reckon its alright if the teeth are ok or is it not worth the risk cos replacements seem bloody expensive.

The teeth rarely wear. It's the damper rubber that becomes hard and brittle and then fails.
If one has failed then all the others will be heading for the same fate and should all be replaced.
Liska racings heavy duty replacements are cheaper than OEM but will last much longer as they have no damper rubber to fail.
They also stock most of the other camchain tensioner components needed for a rebuild.
Here's a link to their site.
They are in the US but will ship to the UK, you just need to email them first as the site isn't set up for uk shipping.

A lot of USA bike shops list these on ebay, its an easy way to buy, paypal and all that..
If at first you don't succeed, try and try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it.

They can be a touch noisier but only compared to good condition or new OEM idlers with soft rubber and you do really have to deliberately listen for it.
Got solid idlers in all my zeds and there's no noticeable difference over the one's they replaced.
