Tips for keeping ramair filters on !

#1 PostAuthor: mike_p » Fri Aug 08, 2014 9:17 pm

Anyone got any tips for keeping Ramair filters from falling off the carbs other than superglue !
I've tried different width clips, not over or under tightening etc etc if you tighten them too much they pop off anyway.....I don't want to fit k & n's.
The carbs are 33 CR's if that makes any difference

If you don't plan on ever using the velocity stacks that come with the CR's when you bought them, or don't mind buying another set,
you could cut them down to the same depth of the Ramair filter rubbers, then clamp the Ramair filters onto the cut down velocity stacks with the jubilee clips,
whilst ensuring to secure the velocity stack's on the CR's with the grey locking rings on the carb bodies.

Yes use velocity stacks they are a million trillion times better than K&N or Ramairs

Put your stacks on and use a pair of these over them, the spacing is correct for Zeds.

Cheers folks......I didn't want to cut the stacks but I managed to squeeze the ramairs over them....just didn't sit right though. I've stuck k & n 's on for the time being but I've ordered a set of those ramair socks so I can put the stacks back on....cheers for that

I had some RAMAIR filters on the Keihin CRS carbs on my bike.
Took it in to Debben performance for carbs to be tuned.
The RAMAIR filters took a trip to the bin.
Ray reckons very difficult tune the carbs with those filters on.
I have ended up with velocity stacks, with mesh filters over the end from Japan.WEBIKE

I've got them on me Harris & it runs pretty good. Always used K&N on me other bikes tho.
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
