DIRKO.

It was sold by DAF in the 80's.

It was sort of unique to DAF then, came in a DAF box with a DAF part number.

Now available anywhere.

It is good stuff.

Dead right jimmock, dirko is a must, use it on all my stuff.
Very good on the top hats on the back of 2500, s if memory serves me right

Used to use Hylomar years ago but prefer the RTV now.
It's a better all round product for sealing cases, cam end plugs and cam chain tunnel etc.
The Hylomar is non setting so no good for the cam tunnel and the cam end plugs tend to shift and need reseating if the camcover is removed whereas the RTV stays put.
Both have the same temp rating.

I miss them old DAF's. The axle was a 2699 if I remember correctly.
They dropped the 2699 when the ATI came out.
The 2699 was still used on heavy haulage though.
I see they are back to reduction hubs on tippers again.

Dirko was a must between the timing plate and the block on the 1160's.
