csr1000 carb change

Hi Guys, can I fit z1000 st carbs on my CSR1000 without any probs as the CSR carbs are diaphragm and st are slide I think, thanks $tevie. :jake

Carbs will fit as they are the same spacing. you will have to swop the inlet manifolds too and maybe muck about with the throttle cables fitment.
The ST's 28mm carbs (or bored out 26's) are the smallest you need to take advantage of the J type heads bigger valves.

OK thanks for that. I understand the changing manifolds bit but what has a J type head got to do with my CSR ? Are these the heads on mine ? and what do you mean by bored out 26's ? are they 26mm as standard and bored out to suit mine ? have to bear in mind I don't know a lot about the history of these bikes. cheers $tevie.

St carbs are 28mm so you will be ok.
26's can be bored out to 29.5 for extra performance.

OK. yea I've heard of people doing that before on aircooled RDs I think, from standard 28mm to 29 or 29.50mm. $
