Just wondering how much work would be involved or if indeed it would be worth it cost wise :?:

i have heard u just remove the shaft mechanism and use a z1000 inner sprocket cover ..and then fit a sprocket onto the shaft but not sure.. but theres a shaft engine in my garage wots gonna have the same treatment :wink:

you would have to replace the output shaft with one from a z1000j or gpz1100 as they are different

For the J style non kickstart engine .
You need -
Gpz output shaft (better than a J as it uses a large nut for the sprocket retention insread of a bolt)
gpz/j gear selector shaft.
gpz/J inner cover/seal holder.
gpz/J sprocket cover.

Is this a Unitrak Gpz shaft ?

Its just that i have two GPZ1100b2 `s and both have the bolt type ,
and world`s most complex retaining washer system !!!!

Ah. yes! a unitrac one.


But beware, you can't use the input-shaft, as it's longer. Just did this with my Z1000J, because I got hold of a set of Z1100ST cases and you just swap all the bits from the J to the ST and voila you have a beautiful engine.
