#1 PostAuthor: JohnC » Sun Apr 15, 2012 10:15 am

Does anyone know if there is a diagram showing how the various parts, rings, rubebrs etc go together?

Having a few problems with the ears myself..
Is that part # 10 44064-005 WASHER,FORK COVER $9.64 meant to fit snugly on the fork tube?
I've put mine together on the Z1-A but that top washer on mine is a small "U" shape in profile part, that just seems to cover the sharp edge of the ears.
The upshot of this is if you grab the indicator arm and shake it a bit, the ears rattle against the fork tubes at the top??
Should this happen?

if your bike has been fitted with taper roller bearing in the head stock it will prevent the top yoke from clamping the fork ears or you could try a new damper rubber no 23 in the diagram

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that
Yes it does have tapered bearings....guess that must be the reason then. I might dig up an O ring the right size and fit it inside the op of the ears.
The reason I asked was that top washer part is drawn (for what that's worth) with a lot more shape to it than the one I have?

Hi could I resurrect this topic as the photo is now missing and I'm just about to put the standard headlight ears on.

z1bman could you possibly put another photo up?

John
