And this is the sprocket carrier with the replacement spacer sat on top.

When I fit the sprocket carrier the spacer has about 10mm float which is about the same distance as the depth the bearing is sat back into the main hub in the first pic. Therefore, I am wondering a) is the spacer the correct one? b) is the bearing sat too deep in the hub (inner hub bearing spacer is fitted and is the same one that came out? C) should I just wang a spacer in to take up the slack?, d) does it really matter?
Anyone got any suggestions? Would be very much appreciated as I'm ripping my hair out and I don't have much to start with!
PS Bearing in carrier appears to be seated as far in as possible (against inner lip) and new oil seal sits flush with outer face of carrier.
