Nice bike man! I can't wait to see it finished.
What kind of forks are you running?

Hi.

I'm using ZX9R B4 forks with a CBR wheel to match the rear.

The problem at the moment is getting the discs and calipers to match up.

Cheers

Forks

#36 PostAuthor: tracktime » Mon Jan 19, 2009 9:54 pm

Hey thanks for the info. I may be buying a set from a 636 zx6 for mine.
I think they will be tall enough.
I wonder if the zx9 and cbr rotors have the same offset.I wonder if they can be switched. anyway best of luck! Thanks again. Chad [/img]

Hi Chad.

I would check the height of the 636 forks as I would think they will be shorter than the ZX9R B4 by an inch or maybe 2.

I'm led to believe the longest forks are
ZX9R B4 (USD)
ZX9R C2 (RWU)
GSXR 1100 L or M (USD)
Other people may know some more and could add to the list for everyones benefit.

Unfortunately for me the CBR rotors are 296mm dia. 3.5mm inboard and 6 hole mounting and the ZX9R are 320mm Dia. and 5 hole mounting.

Cheers

You are correct Gus.

I should go with the zx9. If don't I will get something simular.
it's too bad because I found a good deal on Ebay for 636 stuff.
Thanks again.

How is your bike coming along?

I took your advice and bought zx9 usd forks. I have to figure out the top yoke. I did not get that part.

Hi.

Does anybody have a "530, 18 tooth, 13 spline, 15mm(5/8 inch) offset," front sprocket to fit the Z1, Z1A, Z1B, Z900, Z1000A1/4, H, and Z1R that I could borrow to set my chain alignment on my project.

I am waiting for Debben to recieve a new batch from their suppliers but that is 4 or 5 weeks away.

This is major hold up time.

Cheers

Hi GB

Yes my metallurgist guru Martyn has done some damn fine handy work on the bike.

The tube mounting for the shock mount under the frame.
Replaced the missing rear frame section.
Reworked the rear side rails
Altered the rear brake pedal arm.
Offset the kickstart and reworked the angles on it to clear the footrest.
And all the other bits I've forgotten

His work is amazing, check this build he did http://www.sunbeamspecial.co.uk/img/hereitis/1.html

He's going to do the exhaust for me and then some front disc carriers to mate the Ducati discs to the h***a wheel in the Kwak forks

Yes I got the sprocket from Debben after Talon had made them another batch.

Hopefully the next update will be a bit less than a year

Extremely slow progress I'm afraid
