Ahh.. S&S requested the engines were delivered unstamped from Kawasaki, just as the frames were from Rickman.
Although it says 1015 I know it was blown up in 1979 and fitted with 1105 low compression pistons by Russ Collins.
Mind you, am I right in thinking that the crankcase mouths would've had to be opened up to accept the bigger liners? It might be that it's just the head that's 900.
The engine has to be stripped anyway to have the horrible aluminium buttons removed and replaced with circlips. A hone will also be done along with wired liners and deck height set to give a comp ratio of 7:1. The valve seals will also have to be replaced as this thing hasn't run since 1980 (apart from last week).
I know all the 903cc engines had a 'pork chop' crank but what else jumps out to distinguish the two different motors.
Thanks agsin...... BF.
