Back from South London

Right! Thanks for all the support lads. Got my head back and I'm really pleased. All cleaned up and the crack is welded with new thread etc.
John at I KLEENZ MACHEENZ (daft name) is a top bloke. He is dedicated and really tries to accommodate is customers. Total cost for the welding and cleaning of rotten ol head and cam cover was £150, which I reckon is good value. If only he did human heads! Degreased and vapour blasted with optional finish (ready for paint or just ready). I've decided not to paint it.

Rod does the cam lobe clear the head where its been welded. they're pretty close there with GP cams in??
Just a thought before you assemble it.

That's a good point Zorded, I will give that special attention on re-assembly. Might have to get the Dremel out!
Thanks,
Rod

Be sure to give all the oilways a good flushing/blast too, as any blasting media left in there will soon make mincemeat of your cam & bearings.  I know! :bawl :bawl
I think that's what the label is trying to say.

That's a nice looking Magnum you have there Rod, and I'm keen to see the end result.

I could never get on with Magnums, as they spent far too much time on the back wheel due to the ridiculously short (14") and steep raked swing arm.
In the 80's the alternative Moto Martin's allowed you to get on with 'the business' whilst the Harris's just spent their time being hooligans wheelying everywhere.
The swing arm in yours looks much longer than a conventional Magnum 2 offering though... Is that a Magnum 3 arm or a special from Harris ?
Keep up the good work, it's gonna look real good.

Hi Will,

Thanks for the comments. This is the fourth rebuild for Esmerelda. She's had all kinds of different paint and running gear etc. It's not actually a rebuild, I cracked the head and had to get it welded. Which meant a clean up an all that.
The swingarm was made by Polygon to enable the wider rim. They also did the yokes and some other bits and pieces.
Not much spare time at the moment, so it's going to be a while. Also, now I've cleaned up the top end, the rest of the motor looks even crappier!

Cheers,
Rod
