Interesting to see how much metalflake is visible there.
Seems to have the same lustre and depth of the earlier paint schemes - unlike the Diamond wine Red which always seems far flatter.
From the evidence of how my old DSB KZ's faded, I would still say the factory achieved the depth of colour using a tinted candy over silver metalflake base, rather than a solid colour.
Very interested to see the results.

Recognise that pic Chris, i think it's from superbikes of the seventies, printed by Motor Cycle Weekly.
