z650 neutral light switch

#1 PostAuthor: BustedKnuckle » Wed Jan 17, 2007 1:05 pm

Hi,

I am doing up a 1981 z650

I have a couple of problems and was wondering if anyone can help.

I have a leak coming from the gear selector shaft and it looks like the seal is knackered the clutch push-rod oil seal is also leaking. Any tips or hints on doing the job would be appreciated.

The neutral light does not work. I have tested the wiring and that seems ok. I think it is probably the switch, but I am not sure how to test it.

Wang em out mate but when you re-fit use a socket the same diameter as the seal and GENTLY tap em in until the "hollow" sound goes to a "solid" sound where by you know its seated home
