rotor with keyway

hi guys
Has anybody got a rotor with a keyway cut in it they want to sell and can anybody tell me why some have a keyway and some dont

as far as i am aware they all have a woodruff key ? are you sure it hasn't sheared ?

I thought Z1000 onwards did away with the woodruff key, but increased the torque setting (and size?)on the fixing bolt to try and stop the thing spinning off. :??

i think the later z1000 possibly from a3 onwards had no woodruff key but all the 900 motors did have one

Z1 - 900 and first 1000A = 8mm rotor bolt and woodruff key.
Later 1000 went to 10mm rotor bolt and no woodruff key but same taper.
MK2 1000 went to 12mm bolt and larger dia crank taper.

Believe its a common problem with rotors coming loose on the thou is there a fix for this?

thanks lads
had a good look at the inside taper of the rotor, its defo spun ot some point but i can't for the life of me see a broken key in there :oops:

those are really good had loads at one time, but £2.20 that's taking the Pish thieving Feckers.

ya, agood clean cut one with no damage, the rotor is very scored though, looks like it was just bolted on as tight as poss and the bolt lock tighted.
dont fancy putting it back on like that again though :oops:
does the keyway run the full lenghth of the taper or start halfway down ?

Pretty sure my MKII has a woodfuff key.

Does that fit in with the theory?
