looks like you are missing the seat lock handle/spring /locking plate these parts are like hens teeth to get hold of. good luck with saucing your bits

:rir :rir Kev, I think you can buy the complete assembly from Z-power or Z1 Enterprises but from memory its a bit pricey (no surprises there then).

I have been informed by them that knows, that it is a Bill Wirges original exhaust from the 70's :wink:

A little carb question....

on my Z1b there are two fuel feed pipes, and there are also two "air breather" pipes according to the Haynes manual, fitted on bikes up to 75, but what do they attach to, or are they just left open.

On my old Z1000-A2, one of these pipes would have gone to the vacume side of the fuel tap, but the Z1b isn't vacume operated. I also realise that the carbs are significantly different too.

they are just left open + are tucked down the side of the frame tubes on both sides of the air box

Now here's a thing, I have just managed to get the correct Bill Wirges DynoTuned decal to put back on the exhaust :P

Isn't it amazing what is out there :wink:
