Ideas for a cheap Auxiliary Tank

#1 PostAuthor: martinz1b » Wed Aug 19, 2009 1:33 pm

I will be trying to start the engine in my Z1B for the first time in years and I want to use an auxiliary fuel tank for safety's sake. Has anyone ever made one from scratch and if so what did you use? I don't want to pay £30 or more for something I will only use once or twice. Blue peter style suggestions welcome

Thanks, I wasn't sure if those type of bottles would take petrol without going soft and then leaking. :D I'll go and get an extinguisher now

What about a lawnmower petrol tank?

Like the ones on the old Suffolk Punch mowers etc...

I just searched for "Lawnmower Tank" on ebay and it came up with several.

I did have a look at them but wasn't sure about fitting a fuel tap to one that would have the flow I needed. It's probably a good option though.
