Before anyone mention's it, that rusty front engine mounting bolt is NOT STAYING!
Good news (for Z-Power) is I have ordered new crankcase emblems (as they call them), or the GPz badges that fit on the altenator & points cover. Will be here tomorrow with a bit of luck.
I have spent most of today cleaning up a spare set of injector bodies, they looked in a lot better condition than the ones that came off of the bike. My only concern is the original one's were known to work, these are an unknown quantity, but hey let's be optomistic, cos fitting them took a lot of hot air & lube! So lets hope they work.

Also managed to clean & fit a (better than the original) fusebox & made a stert on cleaning/re-taping the injection loom.

Will need to fit the exhaust & then we shouldn't be too far off trying to fire her up :tick

Hi Gus,
Filter is a kawasaki part. Came from Z-Power, cost around £17 I think.

It's Alive...... Again!
After a bit of faffing about. First problem was I couldn't get the fuel pump to run. After tracing the live from the kill switch it became apparent I had plugged in the double fuel/start relay incorrectly

Fuel pump sorted I cranked & cranked expectantly........... But to no avail :( I checked the spark, which seemed fine, then gave up for the night & consulted the manual. I suspected the injectors, as they were the only part of the fuel injection system that had been replaced.
I tested the injectors with a 1.5v battery to see if I could hear a click as the manual suggested..... Guess what, no click! I then tried the originals & they all clicked as they should :D :D .
Substituted all injectors & after a couple of prods on the starter, she fired up...... but only on three :(
I have just swapped around a couple of the injectors & it is running on all four......... Yippee :D :D :D

Nice one GB

I really like the old 1100 uni's.

Good basis for a big horse power motor if that's the way your going.

Right then, Time for a bit of an update. Most of September was spent getting married & holidaying + Goodwood revival, so not a lot done.
I have been busy since then though, refurbed the footrest's & hangers, rebuilt the rear caliper and made up a new rear brake line. It all worked a treat. There really wasn't much stopping me taking it for a spin, apart from bodywork.
I have repainted some of the bodywork, with fairly good results (yes, I will post pictures) I have used 'rattle' cans from www.bikecolours.com who I would thoroughly recommend. Their cans have a very wide spray angle/pattern. I believe the basecoat is acrylic & the clearcoat is a two pack, modified to dry at room temp

Painting;
First thing I painted was the tailpiece. My thoughts were, if I cocked it up, it would only be a couple of small graphics to replace!
I heated my shed to 30 degrees C & made sure the cans had warmed through as well.

Not bad, the thing I find hardest to do is the clear coat. It seems you need to get it as wet as you dare...... just before it run's  Not wet enough & you kind of get a satin finish, but I have found if you leave it a week or so it will polish up quite well with a bit of T cut.
Next up was the mudguard, this had the best part of two cans of clearcoat on it  .
