i have read that longer travel shocks improve handling. does anyone have any info on this or theory?
why did the racers lay down the shocks at the top, by changing the upper mounts?
I don't know a lot about this , but basic physics tells me that longer travel may not do the job , but decent shocks with adjustable preload, damping, and rebound will be better, you also may find it better to put a better swing arm on if you have a standard zed one
I bolted a set of Koni's with progressivley wound springs on them and ajustable preload back in 86 or 87, well somewhere in that range anyhow and I ain't looked back yet. Those and Progressive Suspension fork springs with 20 weight PJ1 fork oil. Works a charm for any riding I have ever done. I supose I will wear out those shocks someday

i have a zrx12 rear end, and a zx9 front end.
i laid the bottom of the shock down to level the ride height , but this made the shock action , way too stiff.
i need a shorter shock.
