kz1000 carbs broken pilot jet screws

Hi guys just found out that 2 of the pilot screws have been over tightened and have snapped off in place by the previous owner (may explain the poor pulling away).
Have been told that the carbs will be goosed as you cant remove the jet ends from the housing.
Anyone know how to get them out or do i bite the bullet and go searching for new carbs

You can get them out 'usually' give them a bit of a soak with a release fluid, then use the back end of a 0.7 drill bit held at right angles by a pair of narrow pliers and press out from the inside taking care the drill bit is central and square so as not to damage the aluminium of the body. Sometimes they come out relatively easily but occasionally they can be quite stubborn.

I had a broken pilot needle in one of mine and goosed the carb which is quite soft there.

I would agree with Steven that you should soak with WD or similar and maybe try and warm the carb to expand the metal. The pen fluid will then have a chance to get betwixt brass and ali.

Do this several times and use something soft to try and push the brass point downwards from the venturi. Maybe a bit of dowel ?
