Just managed to summon up enough energy to make a post! We had a great turnout this year, despite the weather. We have a fab bunch of members - without exception.

One of the highlights of Saturday evening was Sandi and Nigel (Lurch) turning up (in case anyone doesn't know they were last year's hosts and landlord/lady heros!). They could teach Mr and Mrs Miserable Castlebrook a thing or two about treating your customers right!

The Sunday morning rideout was brilliant. Despite reservations from the guys/gals, Ralph's determination that we should use the IAM system worked a treat - no one got lost and we all arrived together in WSM.

Thanks to you all for your kind comments, and most importantly for turning up - a rally is only as good as the people who join in and you were the best :brav

See you all - and more we hope, next year (different venue - of course)

Finally found out what was making the Old Gurl temperamental on our ride out ... I was too tired to figure it ... when I got back I spent half an hour with the test equipment only to start suspecting the starter motor (bit irrational really)

The manwell suggested taking out the cam chain tensioner etc to get the starter motor out ... I then rang Jak (of Café Racer fame) basically tired and not wanting to take out the starter motor ... as I was talking to him I had a Eureka moment and realised that I hadn't put Loctite on the bolt that secures the earth strap to the engine  and the little fecka had worked loose - hence the intermittent fault that was exacerbated by extra current  Reet lickle tinker it was - press the start button and the solenoid clicked but wouldn't even try and turn the engine over, but no volt drop at the battery  - of course all the lights and indicators etc worked perfic cos they use a different earth ... No Fool Like an Old Fool

Ralph and Marion once again well done
another great Zed rally with a great turnout
I read with interest Your comment's about an unfriendly Landlady
well I can sympathise with You
this year we changed our rally venue after using the same place for the last two years
but this year the new site was run by the most unfriendly Lady I ever met
it appears they want Your money but would prefer if You stayed away
bvut as they say upward and onward for next Year
who know's I might get to that
way too many Zeds

sorry to hear about the issues with the grumpy landlady and all that  , looks like ralph will be hunting down another new venue for next year, maybe everyone in the zed 1oc should chip in and buy the canal inn! good to catch up with some friendly faces (not mine of course) even if it was only a fleeting visit. worth the 200 mile round trip to see some amazing zeds !!! next year i will hopefully camp for the weekend i couldnt this time as i had only just come back from another boozy weekend in wiltshire and im not sure if the misses wolud be that chuffed to know i wanted another weekend pass (then again you never know?) off for a rideout tomorrow to bude then dropping in to the bikeshow at calstock on the way back ,some of you have attended this one in the past. far too many tractors (hardleys) last year :( still be good to get out in the sunshine :D :D
ta ta for now!

`allo boyz + Girlz, just a quick note to say"BIG THANKS" to everyone who organised and attended the South West Rally. It was my 1st club rally and I loved it.A bloody good crack.Really good to meet some like minded people who made me feel sane about my compulsive/obsessive/Kawasaki
syndrome :D .
I did a bit of a run around after and got back Wed` night about 2am?
Bike conked out about 10 miles from home :?? AA collected bike`n me
and then I pushed her onto the ferry. This did not detract from my fun..........all part of the adventure :)
Some of you sounded interested to come to the Isle of Wight at some point,I look forward to it.Official Rally or not?[ Hi Mr Doran :) ]
Deep Joy,see you soon.
