Z1 barrels

#1 PostAuthor: jakeymara » Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:12 pm

Just had my engine split and found the Z1 is actually bored out to a 1000. But piston clearance is still too much, so I have finally found out why she is burning oil. :(

Soooo, I was hoping if someone had a decent set of 900 barrels they could sell me..please, I am missing her already!!! :sf

Hi

Why don't you get new piston linners?
PMC have them.

Hi StephenW

It just crossed my mind to put in new liners this morning, but I have been told PMC sell them at £100 each, then I have to get them fitted etc.

You dont know this but, to add to the woes, with the exception of the cam chain tensioner, one of the cam sprockets and the cam chain, everything else needs replacing for the cam chain running gear. The cost of a sprocket.... I've heard they are made of solid gold. :x

Sorry mate, but I am on the verge of taking a mallet to it or breaking it and never getting a Z again! :bye

I think I'll forget about it for a week and come back to it 'cos I know I will regret breaking it. :(

Hi Geoff

What's drastic, the engine problems, or getting a mallet out?

I couldn't do that to her  . For a start I have met so many great people in the Z fraternity, that I wouldn't have met if I didn't have this.....bloody bike!.

I hope you are OK, I didn't see you at the Yorks rally? I was working on my handshake for months!
