Kill switch wires help

#1 PostAuthor: Davy Doherty » Sat May 23, 2009 9:22 pm

I took the wires out of this because i was going to robb the top switch off it for my Z1, Thing is it's a NOS H2B switch so it would be crazy to do that, i'm sure someone could use it, anyway does any of you lads have one and could have a look and let me know which wire goes where,

Davy

I've had a look at all my genuine workshop schematics and that switchgear doesn't match any H1 or H2 !

However, it's straight forward enough.....

Brown = Ign live (switched)
Yellow = Feed from kill switch to coils
Lighter Blue = Fused supply to lights on/off
Blue = Lights feed to LH switchgear (for dip/beam)

Regards, Will.

Davy, just out of curiosity...what numbers are stamped on the lower half of the switchblock where it would butt against the handgrip? That will tell us the year and month of manufacture.

It's Dec 73 George, And No floyd it wouldn't fit the Z1 range it's a totally different switch Theres only one access hole for the throttle cable and it's a bit bigger all round.. A damm good spare to break all the same but if it helps get the trippples smokers off the road so be it :lol:

Thanks Davy, I think the best bet is to put it on eBay and be sure to include all the relevant info to ensure a high price and a happy customer.
Keep your eyes open on eBay and the part you need will show up, I once picked up a NOS kill switch in its bag with label for around $10USD....Sorry I can't let it go to you as it will someday adorn my own resto.
