Picture sizes, a pictures size in bytes can be reduced by using a prgram such as PaintShop Pro or even Microsoft Picture Manager, part of Office. In any program you need to resize the image, usual in either cm or pixels.
HTML (HyperTextMarkupLanguage), it's what techy types can write web sites in, however most techy's now use other ways to create websites, asp for example.

Hey Baza,
using the programs i suggest to manipulate the picture will also allow you to crop the image, so you can cut out some of the background. Uou can see the file attributes in using 'My Computer' and selecting details from the menu. Use JPG or TIFF as the file type, bmp files are always to big.

Hi Baza
In paint you would go to the Image menu and choose attributes. But Pain is a bit crap for editing pictures. Needs to be something like PainShopPro or another image editng software, there's loads out there. Works porb does not have MS Picture Editor. You need to borrow the software of someone. As for editing for avatars, i rarely bother due to the size constraints.

Thanks Colm, I will have a play with this over the next couple of days.... It took me months to learn how to post pictures so if in six months time you see my avatar has changed to a picture of my birds bum you know I have worked it out.
