Clutch Window

#1 PostAuthor: Jumbo » Mon Jul 14, 2008 9:43 pm

I am considering making a window for my clutch cover. Has anyone got any information on what type of perspex is used and the thickness. I would think around 3mm would be OK.

Perspex tends to warp when hot.

Thermoclear Polycarbonate Sheet might be a better bet - they use it for double glazing

I managed to finish the window which became two in the end. Thanks to "ludders" for the Lexan and TLC for one of the covers.

TLC - I machined them both initially on the lathe and then the second one I machined on the milling machine to follow more the shape of the cover especially the oil level window.

I was onboard one of the ships where I work hence the uniform !
