Brian,
My suspension/steering geometary has gotta be pretty close to what you have & the bike steers/handles amazingly well. Try not to lose too much sleep over it!

You have my condolences Brian I bought a 749 brand new in 2003, it was a great bike, when it was working, I didn't believe all the pesamists, but most of it was true, when it rained the tickover rose to 4,000 revs, on numerous occasions it would only run on one cylinder, it refused to tickover and would cut out all the time, it was in the dealers more than out, still loved it though when it went. Good luck :)
