1)I have checked all my valve gaps and most are 0.05 to 0.15 two are 0.2 Is it worth changing the shim for the sake of 0.05 of a mm?
2) My carbs need sorting. I have taken them off and cleaned them. Found out im running a 110 mainjet. seems small but i have no mid to high end troubles , perhaps a little slow to respond to a handful of throttle. the pilot jet is the standard 17.5, needle is in centre clip. the mix is very rich low down, so much so that my exhaust mainfold has petrol in it! the revs seem to stick often about 4000 revs when i give it some welly out of gear and sometime act as a cruise control low down in 2nd.
since cleaning ive yet to balance the carbs using vacuem gauges. Some advise on how to do that well would be crackin'.
otherwise some tuning advise for the richness???
what is the main air jet and the pilot air jet for? they are on the edge of the intake trumpet
And the pilot fuel screw? round the engine side underneath?
what a can of worms
