would st,steel not be to tough to bend without the proper rig?? only a thought..... bigmac, personely i would buy a couple, if they dont fit, slam then on ebay, wouldnt loose much, maybe even a member would want them for their triple?????

Hack, I wish I could recall more about that "3 roller jig". I saw it about 10 years ago, from a distance (20 Ft), on a bench, at an instrument shop. The rollers were about 1-1/4" diameter with a groove turned in them. It looked home-made and had 10'' lever to apply pressure. The instrument to be rolled was clamped horizontally. If only I had taken a photo. The business and building are no longer!

My bad, I assumed that if someone wanted original looking bands they would use an instrument shop to fit them given the expense of the items. Maybe check out the shops first to see if they can fit them before purchasing anything.

Gar, many moons ago I cosmetically rebuilt a pair of Z1 instruments. I purchased faces and bands from KTT services in NSW or QLD (can't remember which...but I recall that ownership has since changed hands) The faces were alloy as were the bands.....no green glow through the face at night . I opened them up by cutting the rings, cleaned, painted and imstalled new faces. I took them to a shop in Ringwood in Melbourne on Maroondah highway to reassemble. They told me that had I not cut the rings they could have opened, assembled and re-used the original rings... Too late!!! When they reassembled using the (softer and thicker) alloy rings...they looked pretty ordinary. The edge was too thick and when the alloy was bent it showed ugly stretch marks...
Maybe you could look them up and give them a call. It may be worth speaking with them a sending some as a test for any future projects.

That ring is not actually a clock ring, it is a cup that fits in the casing that the entire clock assembly fits into.

The Z1 ring is unique to the Zed series - none of the triple meter rings will fit.

Z650 rings are the same but the meters aren't always cheap.

Z-Power sell the rings @ £15 a pop

If you are close then I can close your meters up for a tenner (I had a special tool made) - however, if they need posting it wouldn't be cost effective.

Thanks for the info RB. Your quite right not cost effective from Spain to post. I'll have to go the chrome route for now.
