Fork stantion advice Z900ltd

#1 PostAuthor: Padders » Sun Apr 05, 2009 4:51 pm

Hi I have a set of forks from a Z900 that I have fitted new stantions in and had the bottoms polished by Mikey new seals etc. Went to fit them to the Z900Ltd today and find that the ones on the Z900ltd have longer stantions. Is this correct or has someone fitted the wrong stations in the past. Cannot find any dimensions in the workshop manuals only stroke inforation which is the same on both models at 140mm.

Cheers

Padders, the Z900LTD has the same frame as the std one (steering head wise) so I'd be surprised if the forks were different.... But... :?:
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Part numbers the same according to the link on Z Powers site so the ones fitted in the bike must be wrong. Correct sliders though but looks like some one has fitting some stantions 25mm too long.

Cheers

Hi padders, i'm new to this, but i had z1000 gsi which is the same as a ltd,and the stancions are about an inch longer, i believe i still have them in the garage, they need to be rechromed but free to a good home if needed, just need to cover postage.

Cheers for the offer Kev but the bike has a decent set on. Its just that I wanted to fitted the new polished set I had from a Z900 and assumed they were the same.
