I'm sure I've said before how good that looks Whatever, but I'd go as far as saying it's probably my favourite modified Zed of all time. :D :D

Wow!!! Thanks for saying all those nice things.
I have to say that all the previous positive comments during the build really spurred me on and gave me a lot of encouragement to press on ..... so cheers for sharing the enthusiasm and I have certainly enjoyed posting the progress reports and pictures.
I only have to rejet for the K & N's now to finish the job because it is well lean opening the throttle through mid range and although I haven't done a wide open throttle plug chop it is surely going be lean there too??
It has 107.5 main's so I was thinking of fitting 120's and raising the needle either 1 or 2 grooves??? can't decide.....experience educated clues anybody?

I decided to ride it the 22 miles from work to home on Saturday afternoon....which was all good until within a mile or two....when it absolutely pissed down!! They are doing a load of roadworks near home as well so the roads were really muddy!
What a bummer. Its only dirt, and I have 'finished' the bike to cope with weather without fear of corrosion etc, but I was a bit glum to get off and see the engine covered in mud!

At least that has got the 'first time out in the wet' nonsense straight out of the way and I don't have to be too poncy or precious about it now.

I have a couple more pics to take and post as I would like to post a pic of my standard A4 next to it. I should be able to take a pic of the two bikes later in the week so that will finish the topic nicely.

No...they are the standard original set of carbs which ran well before with a straight thru' 4 into 1 pipe but standard airbox....so I just need to correct for the K&N's.

You wanna go up 10-15%, best to go high to start with.
Standard pilots are 17.5, so you may need to go up a size or so 20.0 - 22.5.
I'd leave the needles to last.
K&N's and std carbs can be a pain, so be warned...... You'll probably end up reverting back to std air box or get some better carbs :??
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!
