Found this yesterday, after i'd been out on it.......

They might look pretty, but they're off. I was gonna re-torque em this morning with a bit of loctite. But checking Me ZX7R manual found they needed a massive 64 ft/lbs of torque, & that would just chew the head off before the torque wrench went 'click'
I have ordered some stainless M10 flanged bolts to do the job, so I should be able to torque em up properly, with a bit of loctite & have no more worries about a 'Full Floating' sprocket! Yes, they were all loose! :oops: :oops:

It's allright they click when they hit the swinger :twisted:

Use nutloc and not threadloc and you're better off with a bolt design cap head instead of the setscrew you have in there.

What's the difference between threadlock & nutlock?

Thank's for checking your gearing, Seems your final drive ratio is not far from mine. Albeit a little higher. Might try a couple of teeth less on the rear sprocket, will certainly be cheaper. Got me thinking now, if I put a 17 tooth on the front, then that could be too much, I think I'm right thinking one tooth extra on the front is worth two less at the back?? Will speak to Debbens tomorrow.

I use a chain wax, which is colourless, & had done less than a 100 miles, so not really got dirty, but I have been out this morning to inspect, and as I type this, the bike is on a paddock stand, with a 'freshly' lubed chain!! :oops: :oops:

Nutloc isn't as strong as threadloc (studloc) and is easier to take out afterwards. It's only there to stop them vibrating out and not glue them in permanently :wink:

Right, I had a go at 'calibrating' (or seeing how optomistic) my speedo is today.

Strapped on the wife to be's Tom Tom (good n' tight, didn't want to lose that)
Speedo wasn't as far out as I thought. At an indicated 70mph, Tom Tom suggested we were doing 62mph.
What I would like to know is how fast the rest of you are doing at 5000rpm? Tom Tom suggested 64mph, I will post this question in bike help, but feel free to let me know here.

Zed tacho's are just as accurate as the speedo's :roll:

If you add in there inaccuracy, you may as well not bother this comparison.

My tacho moves slower, the further up the range you get, if you know wot I mean :|

I appreciate that Piggy, but I've got to start somewhere. I know none of it will be 'set in stone', but everything is 'out' on this bike , Wheel size, old insruments etc & that doesn't include me! Judging by the comments on the question I asked in the 'bike help' section, I'm about 15mph adrift, which is a great help. I will reduce me rear sprocket by two teeth (after consultation with Debben's) & hopefully I will be sorted. Your own input has been invaluable, It'll be my round next time we meet!
