Z1000 Jetting changes for K&N'S

#1 PostAuthor: KWACKERZ1 » Mon Feb 23, 2009 8:40 pm

I am going to fit k&n conical filters to a standard engined 1000a1, I seem to remember that 4 jet sizes on the mains would be about right for the filters.

Has anyone done this or can advise their setups.

Cheers
Phil

i fitted k&n filters on my bike last summer and spent a lot of time and effort to get them right changing to k&n will cause the bike to run weak so you need bigger main jet thats if you have a standard air box

Go to wgcarbs.com and search the forum, or just ask George, he will give you a starting point. Not sure I can remember, but if you are running the old 28mm carbs, you probably need to run 125 mains.

Real K&N's should be somewhere between 120 and 125, the cheap ones, which are sold in many bike-shops will work with 117,5s on my A2.

Cheers,
