Wheel balance weights

#1 PostAuthor: bedlow1 » Wed Mar 04, 2009 9:22 pm

hello

Can you still buy or have fitted the balance weights that used to go on the spokes?.
I ask this as my tyre dealer now only puts the sticky weights on the rim and tells me they are a thing of the past.
Now where did I leave my Keys!

As far as I know, you can still buy them from Central Wheel Components.

I had my tyres fitted by Micheldever Tyres and they had them, I specifically wanted the spoke weights as the stick on ones are naff.

many thanks for your replies, yep those stick on ones dont look too nice on my new rims. I will try CWC and please do advise of any alternatives just in case.

Yes I can get you some ..... my local shop can order them in for you or let me know what ones you require & I will get them & send them on to you...

He says there are a few knocking around in his tyre changing booth which you can have... but I don't know their condition

PM me for his details

He is pretty good at getting most things for classic bikes ( not bad as he specializes in Hogs !!!! ... but he loves old Kwaks )

Use the lead tape that is sold for imitation leading of windows, (good for weighting fishing flies as well  ) wrap it round the spoke.
