Steering lock is limited!!!!! But not so bad it's unuseable.
I did consider having new top & bottom yokes made, with an increased offset, but the cost/useabilty resulted in just a bottom yoke. I believe the wider, less offset yokes are more stable.
What makes my lack of lock worse is the 'chunky' but lovely headlight brackets. They would tw*t the tank first. I will try and improve on them, however I hate the 'normal' pressed steel/chromed, link together 'streetfighter' stuff most acc mags seem to sell.
I maybe need to come up with a bespoke answer. Zed1015 would probably be able to whip up a master piece in an afternoon :!: :!:

I might have to use the link together ones as i cant have my light as high as yours and i think the billet ones will restrict it to much  as i have bugger all stearing now!! noticed your lathe what's it like as i am after one at the moment.

On my Z1r i moved the tank back 25mm to get some decent lock but that was at the dry build stage. On the drouin i didn't bother as the wider usd yokes allowed a bit more clearance but not enough to fit clamp on type light brackets. ( I only realised that after i bought some from streetfighter store but they are rubbish anyway ) , So i'm mounting off the bottom yoke. Looks like you have plenty of room on your yoke to do something similar.

Brian,
Lathe is ok. It's only a 'boys' lathe. Came from Machine Mart, can't remember exact cost, but they had a deal on at the time (don't they all these days?) Downside is it will only hold 1 1/4'' in the chuck. I did look at buying a 'Man's' lathe (check out the beauty in Zed1015's thread) but that would have had to be second hand & I wouldn't have a clue if I was buying a good 'un or a scrapper.
I only use it for turning spacers etc. I did make my fork internals with it, which turned out ok. It's a bit like all special tool's, once you've got em, you wonder how you managed without 'em.
Biggest problem I have is I am relying on the lathe experience I learnt as a schoolboy. Believe me, that was some time ago!!

Been out on my bike today, Fantastic, the sun was out, nice n' dry & I couldn't help grinning from ear to ear. Bike ran beautifully, can't wait till next friday to get it MOT'd. Will probably be pi**ing down! If it is I will chuck it in the back of me van. Call me what you like, but I don't do rain if I can help it!

I have been giving some thought to headlamp brackets & thought of using a couple of stainless exhaust clamps on each leg, then bolting a piece of aluminium to the bit of thread left sticking out, after the clamp had been tightened, but to be honest, after my quick blast today, it really wasn't a big problem, so I probably won't bother.
I could fashion something that mounts to the bottom yoke, as suggested by Zed1015, but my bottom yoke is now a long way from where I want the headlamp!!

Looks GB Very Good!!! :xbou
I think LTDs have the headlight mounted on a bracket that bolts to where the clocks bolt to the top yoke. Klasmo used to sell somehting very similar in stainless to fit the z1. It would be a neat way of getting round the problem and would not be too hard to make for a man of your skills.

Steve R, thanks, I will have a butchers at Klasmo site.
Mark, oddly enough I was surfing ebay earlier looking at end can's, cos I don't think mine is loud enough, found this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GP-STYLE-CARBON-C ... 240%3A1318
Mikey (Blingmeister), I am well chuffed with it, but I am wondering, are we the only two members in Bristol? I know Ralphy lives down the road, but he's not in Bristol.
Are we 'The Bristol Two' :?
