Z1000 Tank

Hi All,
I've got a Z1000J2 which is in bits and I'm trying to collect parts I need, the bike came with a tank which seems identical to my GPZ1100B1 tank but I've got a tatty but sound Z1R tank(in silver/blue) which I wanted to put on, it seems it won't fit, I know anything can be made to fit but it seems sacrilegious to cut the Z1R tank up, :idea:

so any suggestions to what tank might fit ?

Hello saab9002 i have a spare tank which i believe is a J type. Looks identical to my J1 but has a lot of paint on it. Your more than welcome to have a play with it but i'm not sure that you dont already have the same tank?????

Just up the road if you need any help. Dont cut the Z1R tank i know someone who is looking for one i think.

Hi Saab9002, I have a 1984 Z750 L3 tank which is going begging. It is in original blue complete with stripes. I'm pretty sure the Z750L3-4 and the Z1000J were the same when it came to the bodywork. I can send you photo's and sizes if you want.
Ps. It has not got the petrol cap and would need to be sealed!
