Starting problems when warm

Hi all, just getting to grips with all this. I have a 1973 900 Z1 it starts and runs well from cold but cuts out and refuses to restart once warm but will bump start. I have cleaned the carbs all jets were blocked, bike has 4 into 4 exhaust wondered are baffles usually a probem? This is the first one I've owned would any appreciate any advice. I can do most jobs been spannering all my life but would be glad of some time saving tips. Bear with me as computers not my forte.

plugs wern't black can anyone give me any info on airscrew setting's or tell me where i can download a manual from thanks Dave

You might be getting too much fuel in the float bowls. Forget about checking the float height it's a waste of time on old bikes. Use clear tube from the drain below the float bowl, loosen the screw and the level should reach and not exceed the gasket mating surface of the bowl. Careful with the screws, that are normally seized or fucked.

THANK'S FOR THE INFO I FOUND BAD EARTH CONNECTIONS ON WIRING AND CLEANED THEM UP BIKE RUN'S A LOT BETTER REGARD'S DAVE

it is worth checking the shims if they are on the tight side once it warms up the gap will close keeping the valves from sealing and becomes a t**t to start (only a thought but worth a try)
