#1 PostAuthor: bigmac103 » Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:29 pm

Are the tail fairings for the Z900A4 the same as the Z1s?

Think the Z1's are more "rounded" than the A4/Z1000A1 & A2

No ! They look similar and mountings are same , Slightly wider at rear because of square tail light lens !

Big Mac, as Keith says, the Z1 Series ( Z1, Z1A & Z1B) are more rounded at the tail ends... Slightly more rounded to fit more closely around the oval tail-light of the Z1 series. The 900-A4, Z1000 A1 & A2 are squarer to be more in keeping with the squarish tail-lights of these later models.

Both types fit either frames ...... RegardZ

Thanks guys, I thought there might be a difference that's why I asked just didn't twig about the rear light. One more question about differences, is the fuel tank different too?

Another one for you Paul, will the z1 side panels fit the A4 frame?

Big Mac, Not to steal Paul's thunder;
TANKS, The tanks will fit either Z1 series and A4 etc. however, there is a small differents that will be noticed by the experts (that will always find you!). They call the Z1 series tanks "flat bottoms" as the seam is tucked well under the tank more towards the centre. Whereas, the Z900/ Z1000 tanks have the seam more to the outside lower edge.

SIDE-COVERS, You will not fit Z1 series side-covers to the A4/ Z100A1/A2. You may think you can weld the appropriate brackets in a suitable position on the frame..... You get stimmied around the petrol-cock and the seat lock on the LHS. If you get a nice solution to this problem , please let the forum know!

other differences in tanks bigmac are, wider nacks on a4 for the wiring harness, hook for strap further forward on a4 and also i think the holes are further apart for the badges on the a4, but i could be wrong on that one :idea: :?: :idea: :?: hope this of use. check the beezee's site, that explains it all.

I believe the document tray differs between the Z1/A/B series and the 76 model Z900. They look similar though one of them is longer and has a different taper. Not interchangeable from memory...though I could be wrong.
