Are you serious Chris!! Think about it,, Chris has spent ages finding the correct fluid and building a name up for himself he's temporally stopped doing the refurbs because of his main work, he will go back to it eventually and you want him to hand his "know how" over to someone else to take over his work. i don't know but i know what i would say if it was me FUCK OFF and do your own research.

I wasn`t suggesting he hand over his hard earned to anyone else, but when I spoke with him the other week he did say he may start up again ?

It`s not for me to say wether he could give out any fluid but he is possibly the only person in the world that knows where to get it.

Give it to anyone else ? That`s up to him.

In the meantime I am selfishly glad I got the master to do mine before he gave up :(

My clocks have just gone back to Rick Brett again for damping issues. They had already been done once. I'll let you know how mine turn out.

have to say that I would recomend waiting for Chris to start up again, dont forget that he had a break a few years back but came back to it.

I had a set restored by you know who in the states and was realy dissapointed, the glasses missed up and the speedo and taco needles worked like shakey window wipers. this of course may have been a one off. He did offer to supply another set but I flogged these on ebay and got a chris set which were A1.

Sadly...not a one off.
Waiting for Chris would be the best advice I've heard.

big fluff does replacement dial covers for the 900 and thou...think he has just added Z1b to the range.

they look good for a visual quick fix but there obviously not for the absolute perfectionist.

Clocks

#14 PostAuthor: PJ » Thu Feb 05, 2009 5:04 pm

Boys can I recommend Al Marshall - I hope he does not mind me putting this on here,

He is based in Tamworth, I went across to see him at his place of (WORK) ha ha, he showed me some of the clocks he has done before and the secret grease used in the dampers (sorry I dont know the name of it, he would not show me, or how he gets the clock rings off) git.

However I have attached photo's and they look superb, any blemishes you see are from the camera or my fingerprints, the cases are powder coated, so these are for riders not show bikes (that's because of the powder coat and not paint, nothing to do with the quality) and yes I have put my old rusty screws back in for now,

Any way here's the pics

Al has also done work for me although not on clocks. Good bloke and top work. No problem reccomending him.
