Thats exactly it the atmosphere, stayed in b&b last year (thanks pigford) first time ever done it at a rally and its just not the same as camping at a rally.

I've got no problem with crawling into a tent drunk - actually that's not strictly true thinking about it; trying to fall through the zipped bit was always a challenge, but once in sleeping was never a problem ... for a few hours until the booze's anaesthetic qualities began to wane when the reality of the cold and discomfort starts to become apparent and is then amplified in the morning as the hangover builds to a crescendo of misery. And then in the morning as you crawl out of the canvas door in the morning, wondering why you didn't zip it back up properly and then it starts to come back .... you got frustrated with the seemingly impossible task of unzipping the flap and gave in and dived head first through the fucker. Then as you emerge further and take the first breaths of clean air, not 95% beer powered fart gas you have been inhaling all night, and wonder why your knees are damp ... the information from your cloudy memory slowly clears and you remember that you desperately needed a piss in the night and poked it through the tent flap with no thoughts of the future consequences ... and you then realise you have only the cloths your kneeling in. And that's on a good day when it's not pissing with rain

For those of us who like a bit o comfort in our lives ....

... I have just booked into a different guest house.

During the search I picked up on a huge number of reviews of the place, none of which were complimentary This reminded me of how we were all fleeced to a greater or lesser degree last year.

I have booked my self and CB into this place. It may be just as bad, but it certainly hasn't elicited the huge condemnation that the Wheelgate has. They also assure me they provide a really good breakfast (Mind you the Wheelgate told me they less than half a miles last year wasn't true!) But according to Google they are closer than the Wheelgate

Me and the Mrs have already booked into the Hotel from hell but will hold our nerve and see for ourselves.

At time of writing they have 3 doubles, a couple of twins and a couple of single free and are very close to Squires (Mind you the Wheelgate told me they less than half a miles last year wasn't true!) But according to Google they are closer than the Wheelgate

you are about 2 miles away from the venue ralph very close to the old cafe before it moved

According to Multi Map Church Hill Guest House is 1.5 miles from the Squires and The Wheel House is 1.7 miles, in fact from Squires you pass Churchill on the way to the Wheelgate, which should be good for taxi sharing
