were those your jim jam's you were wearing

I was wearing my boiler suit - which has my name on them...

Al, must admit, Ray did seem a bit faster than I remember, but not that much

Gotta tighten exhaust (blowing here & there) set ignition (as I guessed it for the initial start up).

I have used Tesco basic mineral (20-50w) to run it for a few miles, then will put in new oil & filter :P

Got some nice K&N's off Noel McGuinness which will be added  Waiting for some s/s lines from M&P to do brakes

Can't waint to go for a spin
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Right then..... had a spare few hours to have a bit of a fiddle with the bike

Its still a PIG to start........... Battery is well charged..... but just turns & turns... :??

So, decided to fit the Dyna S :P Checked voltage to coils.... only 1 volt less than at battery..... so I assume thats OK :?:

Before when it was eventually running, would "hang-up" on revs..... :!: Now this was NOT due to sticking slide or tight throttle cables

It was on 145 mains & 25 pilots... & tried fuel (like air) screw out from 1/2 a turn to 2 turns... :| Float height 18mm

So decided to change pilots & mains... Carbs off :??

Fitted 30 pilots & 155 mains....... She did start but still took some time :!:

As you may well have noticed shes running a bit rich..... but sounding a bit smoother..... :D

B*****d only starts OK once warm... :??

She still "hangs up" on the revs tho

Could be coz too rich.... all that excess fuel making it rev :?:

But its such a sod to start up :?: Fuel is getting thru & spark seems good :|

The carbs blow back is coz of the lumpy cams  I haven't degreed them in yet, just set them up as they were

Piggy,
1 volt less at the coils is quite a bit. Get yourself down to Maplins & do the relay mod. Everything to gain for a fiver or so. I have it in my head (read it somewhere) that while spark looks ok, once under compression it is weaker. Could explain poor starting :?:

Oh yeah......... Your bum does look big in those overalls :hys
