Z900 Z1000 Front Brake

#1 PostAuthor: bigmac103 » Tue Dec 23, 2008 6:51 am

Has anyone got a diagram of the front brake caliper for the 1976 Zs? The manual I have only refers to the Z's up to Z1B.
Thanks
Bill

Here is a link to a parts diagram for the US version.

I bought a factory manual and parts book from this guy in NZ. They are ring bound repros and again are for US models. You will struggle to get the Euro version.

I have done this mod on mine A1 so if I can help just ask.
You will need :
Obviously 2 calipers, I know you have the right hand bracket
2 discs marked 4.5 mm minimum
2 steel brake pipes
2 lower brake hoses
The right hand bracket for the pipe
A twin splitter on the bottom yolk
A 5/8 master cylinder
The right hand dust cover over the disc

I do have photos but cant log into Photobucket just now.

Brake

#3 PostAuthor: bigmac103 » Tue Dec 23, 2008 7:58 am

I have on the way everything now, including the bracket. Just needed to see exactly what's required on the caliper for the brake pads.

That's very helpful, thanks Chris.

Same caliper as KH 250,400,500,Z650 and other Kawasaki models from that era.
