Davy,
Interesting how they originally sprayed those early casings with the Black overspray on the inside too. Do you reckon they sprayed the whole lot then rubbed down the mating surfaces afterwards? I've got two Z1 engines coming to me soon for resto and the guys Dave Marsden uses to paint them (In Merseyside) seem to be on the ball although they haven't perfected the crinkly Black finish on the barrels & head but its pretty close.
